Joe Wiggins, Men's Basketball

Joe Wiggins, Men's Basketball

Wiggins came to MCLA after transferring from Berkshire Community College and playing for the club team at BCC.  Wiggins had a decorated high school career at St. Joseph's in Pittsfield, advancing deep into the postseason with the Crusaders.

Wiggins has primarily been used as a sixth man in head coach Anthony Skiffington's program.  The first year Trailblazer has logged 7 starts and appeared in all 21 games.  He is averaging 8.8 points per game and 3.4 rebounds.  Wiggins has twice topped the twenty point mark, once in an overtime win against Lyndon State (21 pts) and a career best 23 point performance in a loss to Fitchburg State.

After those performances, Wiggins was selected as the MASCAC Rookie of the Week.  The honor is awarded to the deserving first year collegian by the league offices.  He's scored in double figures on seven different occasions and is adjusting nicely to the Division III schedule.

After leading his BCC club team against quality competition, Wiggins decided that he wanted to pursue a four year institution.  Hailing from Pittsfield, his decision was simple in that the local product wanted to attend MCLA.
