2016 Women's Cross Country Schedule
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Athletics department has released both the Men's and Women's Cross Country schedules along with the golf schedule for this fall. The cross country schedules are mirrored as both teams will travel together and compete on the same days. Cross Country begins on Saturday September 3rd while Golf opens on Thursday the 1st.
Cross Country-
Both programs will compete in an eight meet schedule lasting into mid November. The teams open up on the 3rd at the nearby Southern Vermont Invitational in Bennington. A week later, the teams will head up to Castleton to run in the Spartan Invitational before closing a three week stretch at Bard on the 17th.
After a nice two week layoff, the Trailblazers will lace them up to run at the Keene State Invitational on October 3rd before heading to Westfield for the James Early invite on the 10th. MCLA heads to Western New England (10/15) on the 15th to wrap up another three week stint before heading into championship season.
The MASCAC Championships will be held at Fitchburg State on October 29th. MCLA will then get another week off before competing in the NCAA New England regional meet on November 12th at a familiar course down in Westfield. The New England meet wraps up the regular season for the Trailblazers.
Golf-
The golf program currently has a seven match slate set for the Fall. They open up on Thursday, September 1st at the Johnson State Invitational for a one day event at Rocky Hill Country Club. On the 9th, MCLA will head to Cobleskill for the Fighting Tiger Invitational for their first 36 hole event of the fall.
The Trailblazers will then host the MCLA Invitational at Berkshire Hills Country Club on September 15th at 11am. Following a nine day layoff, MCLA heads to nearby Taconic Golf Club on the campus of Williams College for their 36 hole event on September 24-25.
On the 27th, MCLA heads to Westfield State for a one day 18 hole match at Tekoa Country Club before turning the calendar into October. The NAC Championships will be held on October 8-9 as the Trailblazers look to improve upon last years finish.
The unique wrap around schedule will include some matches in the spring of 2017 highlighted by the MASCAC Championships, however the dates haven't been finalized as of yet.
