Bio

Hon. Paul E. Perachi graduated from the college in 1963. He lives in Pittsfield, Mass. with his wife the former Janet Bourassa; they have two children, Matthew and Sandra and three grandchildren, Kyle, Dominic and Evan. He was appointed an associate justice of Juvenile Court in 1995. Originally assigned to Springfield Juvenile Court, Judge Perachi was appointed as First Justice of the Berkshire Juvenile Court in 1997 and currently presides there. A former grade four teacher in Pittsfield Public Schools, Judge Perachi was also an algebra teacher, guidance counselor and driver education teacher in addition to serving as athletic director, varsity basketball and assistant football coach at St. Joseph High School in Pittsfield. He was principal at Lenox Memorial High School from 1970 to 1988 where he also taught Constitutional Law. He became a member or BAR in 1983. He holds Bachelor and Master degrees from MCLA and a law degree from Western New England College School of Law. He was first Chairman of the Youth Commission for the City of Pittsfield and was a trustee at MCLA, in addition to being a member of the Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is currently a member of the United Way Steering Committee, a corporator of the Boy's and Girl's CLub and of Downtown Pittsfield, Inc. as well as a member of the Willie Ross School for the Deaf Board of Trustees. While in college he played basketball from '58-'63.
