Bio

Matthew Boillat, a native of North Adams, was named Head Athletic Trainer at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in 2008. He currently oversees all aspects of the Athletic Training Room including injury prevention, rehabilitation, treatment, and game and practice coverage for all thirteen MCLA teams.

Boillat has over 13 years of experience as a NATA-BOC Certified Athletic Trainer. His professional career started out in California working as Head Athletic Trainer at Menlo-Atherton High School in Atherton, California and as a Physical Therapy Assistant at BaySport Physical Therapy in Los Gatos, California. Additionally, Matthew provided medical coverage for hockey events for the San Jose Sharks (NHL).

In January of 2006, Matthew returned to the east coast and became an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Merrimack College in Andover, Massachusetts. While at Merrimack, Matthew worked with various sports and was an instructor for Introduction to Sports Medicine lab and Therapeutic Rehabilitation lab.

Matthew received his Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training/Sports Medicine at Quinnipiac University in 2003. He then went on to San Jose State University graduating in 2005 with his Masters of Arts in Kinesiology.

Matthew lives in Clarksburg, Massachusetts with his wife, Kelsey, and their daughters, Emma and Phoebe. He is an active member of the Clarksburg Volunteer Fire Department serving as a captain.
