MCLA Golf Classic a major success, honors Marilyn Truskowski

Pittsfield, MA- The MCLA Athletics Department, along with the development office, hosted the 16th annual Golf Classic yesterday afternoon at Berkshire Hills Country.  The event is an annual fundraiser for the Athletics department.

Each year, MCLA selects an honoree for the tournament.  This year the honoree was Marilyn Truskowski.  She has been a contributor to the athletics department in various ways throughout her career at MCLA, including her role as a golf classic committee member.

The event began with a BBQ lunch followed by a full field of 144 golfers on the par 72 layout.  Following the scramble format, participants were treated to a buffet dinner and an awards ceremony, including the presentation of the honoree plaque by MCLA President, Dr. Mary K. Grant.

The 2012 event was successful in large part to the President's club Title Sponsor, Conserve thru Control (CTC, inc), who was also presented a plaque for their unwavering support of the classic.

Tournament winners were announced for both low gross and low net, as well as closest to the pin and longest drive prizes.

The classic is a staple of the athletics department, and in 2012 raised over $17,000 for the enhancement of the department.

MCLA, along with the athletics department, would like to thank all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made the 2012 event a memorable success.
