First year player Seariac named second team All MASCAC in Baseball

North Adams, MA- MCLA first year utility player Christian Seariac has been named to the All MASCAC second team as announced this afternoon from the league offices.  Seariac is the lone representative on the team from the Trailblazers.

Ryan Feeney of Bridgewater State earns MASCAC Player of the Year while Kevin Connelly is the MASCAC Pitcher of the Year and headline the 2017 MASCAC All-Conference team as voted by the eight coaches from around the league.  

Ben Palatino, the freshman from Hudson, Mass., is the 2017 Rookie of the Year after hitting .341 with a .458 on-base percentage, 11 doubles, a triple, two home runs, 24 RBI and 35 runs scored in his first season with the Lancers.  MCLA head coach Mike Gladu has earned the 2017 Champion's Choice Baseball Coach of the Year after leading the Trailblazers to their first MASCAC Tournament berth since 2009 and the fifth seed in the tournament.

Seariac had a solid rookie campaign for MCLA as he ended the season batting .275.  He led the team with 22 runs scored, drove in 6, and drew a team best 15 walks.  The first year had a 4-4 day with two runs scored and two driven in as the Trailblazers defeated Framingham State.  He would add multi hit games against Westfield State as the Trailblazers earned a split of the regular season series.

Seariac played multiple positions throughout the season as he was used in all three outfield slots whiile also seeing time at second and third base in the infield.
