Ferrara earns MASCAC Rookie of the Week honor

North Adams, MA- MCLA first year third baseman Jake Ferrara has been named the MASCAC rookie of the week.  The conference announced the honors this afternoon.  The honor marks the first for Ferrara, but he joins Liam Nolan as MASCAC honorees this season.

Cameron Borrelli of Framingham State was selected as the conference's player of the week while Westfield State's John Gegetskas was tabbed as the MASCAC pitcher of the week.

Ferrara had an outstanding week for MCLA.  The right hander batted .556 with a double, two runs scored and four RBI with a .667 slugging percentage and .636 on-base percentage in a 3-1 week for the Trailblazers.  His best outing was a 3-6 showing in the Trailblazers doubleheader sweep of Worcester State on Saturday.  Ferrara drove in four runs on the afternoon.

He hit safely in all four games in which he played in.

Ferrara is currently batting .261 for MCLA.   The Trailblazers will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Westfield State in another key MASCAC doubleheader.
