Baseball releases 40 game slate including MASCAC three game series

2019 MCLA Baseball Schedule

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Baseball program has announced their 40 game schedule set to kick off in March with an early season road trip to Stevenson on March 2nd.  The 2019 schedule will also feature a significant change as all conference play will now be three game series.  Previously, the MASCAC played just two league games against one another.

The Trailblazers, under the direction of fourth year head coach Mike Gladu, will open with a three game series at Stevenson on March 2nd and 3rd.  After returning north for a few days, MCLA is slated to take on Mount Saint Vincent in a twinbill on March 9th at the Frozen Ropes facility in Chester, NY.  Following that contest, MCLA will head to the sunshine state for a nine game trip (March 14-22nd).  Those contests have not been finalized yet, but will be updated on the web in the coming weeks.

Once MCLA returns home, they begin a tough stretch of games beginning with RPI on the 26th.  The Trailblazers then open up conference play with three games against Framingham State on March 29th and 30th.  The single game on the 29th is scheduled to be the home opener for MCLA.

As the calendar hits April, MCLA will host a pair of nine inning league games with Westfield State (3rd) and Fitchburg State (5th) coming to town.  The local nine will then be on the road for their next five games, all in the MASCAC.  MCLA will travel to Fitchburg State on April 6th for a doubleheader and then to Westfield State for a twinbill on the 9th.  A night game on Friday, April 12th awaits at Mass. Maritime before MCLA hosts the Bucs the following day.

The Patriots Day contest this season will be a road game at SVC before MCLA heads to Worcester State on April 18th.  Gladu's nine will host the Lancers the next day on Good Friday in a doubleheader starting at 2pm.  A road trip to Anna Maria is next on the 23rd and then MCLA makes the long commute to Salem State on the 26th.  The Vikings will head to North Adams the next day on the 27th in a doubleheader.  The home stand will continue when the Trailblazers take on Skidmore at Joe Wolfe Field on April 30th.

The last two home dates of the regular season will feature tilts with Williams on May 1st and then Bridgewater State on May 3rd.  The Trailblazers wrap up the regular season the next day on May 4th when they head to Bridgewater.

The MASCAC tournament will commence the following week.
