Men's Basketball falls to MASCAC foe Salem State on the road

Salem, MA- The Salem State men's basketball team took control early and placed five players in double figures as they breezed past the MCLA Trailblazers 99-64 in MASCAC action Wednesday night.  With the win, the Vikings improve to 3-0 in the MASCAC and are now 9-6 overall.  The Trailblazers drop to 2-11 overall and are 0-3 in the league.

The Vikings took control early and cruised into halftime with a 59-31 lead leaving little doubt to the ending.  Salem was never contested in the second half as they lead quickly grew to thirty and they breezed home.

Salem State was paced by Marcus Faison's team high 18 points and 9 rebounds.  Tyreik McCauley added 16 points on a perfect 6-6 shooting night.  He added 8 rebounds as well.  Shaquan Murray, Jacob Lindland, and Sean Bryan each ended with 11 points.  Drew Healy finished with 9 boards as well for the Vikings.

Salem State owned a decisive 45-31 edge off the glass and forced 22 MCLA turnovers in the win.

The Trailblazers were paced by Keiland Cross.  The junior filled the stat sheet by finishing with 15 points, 9 assists, and 8 rebounds in the defeat.  He went just 5-15 from the floor.  Joe Wiggins had a game high 19 points on 6-14 shooting.  Joe Murray ended with 10 points and 7 rebounds.

MCLA shot 43% from the floor in the loss.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Saturday when they host Framingham State at 1pm.
