Trailblazers fall to Falcons on Senior Day

North Adams, MA- The visiting Fitchburg State Men's basketball team got 26 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals from Jaleel Bell, while teammate Joshua Bosworth added 20 points in leading the Falcons past the MCLA Trailblazers 90-65 win in the Amsler Campus Center.  With the win, the Falcons improve to 13-10 and sit at 8-2 in the MASCAC.

The Trailblazers fall to 2-20 on the season and are winless in conference play at 0-11.

The Falcons never trailed as they placed nine players in the scoring column in the opening half of play.  They led 38-27 at the half and the lead remained in double figures the entire second half.  It would balloon to 27 points late in the half before settling on the final score.

Bell was outstanding in the closing half going off for 21 of his 26 in the second stanza.  After shooting just 2-10 in the first half, he was 7-11 in the second.  He was a perfect 5-5 from the line as well.  Bosworth also had a big second half scoring 14 of his 20 points in the frame. 

They were the only Falcons in double figures as FSU shot 49% from the floor in the win.

MCLA was paced by Joe Wiggins who ended with 23 points and 7 rebounds.  Keiland Cross added 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists in the loss.  Joe Murray ended with 9 points and 13 boards for the Trailblazers.

MCLA shot just 35% in the contest and finished with 12 turnovers.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Wednesday when they face non league foe Pine Manor at 7pm.
