For 7th time this season, Cross named top rookie in MASCAC

North Adams, MA- MCLA's Keiland Cross continues to put up numbers for the men's basketball program.  For the seventh time this season, Cross was tabbed as the MASCAC rookie of the week after a pair of solid performances.

Fitchburg State's Jaleel Bell was the conference's player of the week after averaging 27 points for the Falcons.

Cross began the week with a 13 point, 6 rebound performance in a loss at Framingham.  He would follow that up with a 20 point, 5 rebound, and 6 assist game in a loss to Fitchburg State at home on Saturday.  For the week, Cross averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.5 steals for the Trailblazers.

Cross is currently second in the MASCAC in scoring (16.5 ppg) and first in assists (4.0 per game). Both lead the Trailblazers.

MCLA will wrap up the regular season this week with a pair of games.  The Trailblazers head to Pine Manor on Wednesday to take on the Gators before traveling to Bridgewater State on Saturday in the season finale.
