Men's hoop drops high scoring affair to Pine Manor 104-89

Boston, MA- Pine Manor College had three starters score over 20 points apiece as they rolled to a 104-89 win over the MCLA Trailblazers in non conference action.  The Gators were led by Tank Roberson's 27 points.  Chancie Williams went for 25 while Curtis Hyman added 20 in the win for PMC, now 16-8 on the season.  MCLA drops to 2-21 on the season with the loss.

The Gators led comfortably in the opening half and went into the locker room with a 57-39 lead. It seemed as though they would coast home from there, but MCLA had other ideas.  With the score at 66-45 with still 16:21 left to play, the Trailblazers would use a 16-2 spurt to get within 68-61 following a Dahndray Sistrunck three point play.

The Trailblazers would get the ball back and try to inch closer, however a Gator block led to a Erick Rosario bucket to stop the spurt and start a 8-2 run to give them back some breathing room.  MCLA would cut it to 8 points on a pair of Nolan Bird free throws, but that was as close as they would get as the Gators pulled away in the final minutes.

Wiggins paced MCLA with a 30 point effort including an 11-23 shooting night.  Joe Murray was outstanding going for 17 points and a career best 21 rebounds for the Trailblazers.  MCLA leading scorer Keiland Cross struggled mightily from the floor, but ended a point shy of a triple double with 9 points, 13 rebounds, and 12 assists.

Roberson ended with 27 points on 11-23 shooting.  He had 21 points in the closing half of play.  He added 8 assists in the win.  Williams was 9-16 from the floor and Hyman was 6-9 from the field.  Josh Gause added 16 points off the bench for PMC who shot 47% from the floor in the win.

The Trailblazers will wrap up the season on Saturday when they travel to Bridgewater State for a 1pm tilt.
