Men's Hoop tripped up at Fisher 91-73

Lynn, MA- Fisher College placed six players in double figures and used a balanced attack to sprint past the MCLA Trailblazers 91-73 this afternoon in non conference action.  MCLA drops to 5-10 on the season while Fisher is now 7-14 overall.

Jamontay Thompson and DeAndre Pennington led the hosts with 17 points each in the win.  Kyle Snowden and Malik Seldon each ended with 12 points while Anthony Kellum and Joshua Graetz had 10 points.

The Falcons started fast as they immediately outscored MCLA 16-0 to start the game.  MCLA finally got on the board when Tanner Owens scored at the 13:58 mark, but the Falcons scored the next seven points to open up a significant 23-2 advantage with 12:24 left til halftime.

Fisher would eventually lead 50-32 at halftime as they shot 60% from the floor in the half.  The Falcons were impressive from three point land connecting on 7-12 shots.  MCLA shot just 39% in the half and committed 9 turnovers.

MCLA opened the second half with a pair of old fashioned three point plays from Joe Wiggins and Noah Yearsley to get within 50-38, but Fisher's Pennington answered with a three pointer to stem the tide.  

The Trailblazers would get within fourteen points on a number of occasions, the last of which came when Keiland Cross converted with 4:53 remaining, but MCLA wouldn't threaten the Falcons the rest of the way.

Fisher ended the contest shooting 53% from the floor and assisted on 27 of their 35 field goals.  They forced MCLA into 17 turnovers.

MCLA was led by Yearsley's team best 17 point afternoon.  He went 5-9 from the floor.  Wiggins was the only other player in double figures with 13 points.  Cross ended with 7 points, but added 12 rebounds and 5 assists.

The Trailblazers are back in action on Tuesday when they host Salem State in MASCAC action.
