Yearsley's MASCAC tournament performances give him third straight rookie of the week honor

MASCAC Weekly Release

North Adams, MA- MCLA first year forward Noah Yearsley had quite a year for the Trailblazers.  He concluded the season by earning his third straight MASCAC rookie of the week award after a sensational performance in last week's conference championships.  Rocky DeAndrade of conference champion Bridgewater State University was selected as the conference's player of the week.

In all, Yearsley has collected six MASCAC rookie of the week awards this season.  Classmate Mike Demartinis also collected one giving the Trailblazers half of the conference honors for the season.

Yearsley had his best week in a Trailblazer uniform during the postseason run.  He averaged 25 points and 5 rebounds on the week for the Trailblazers, leading the team in scoring in both contests.  In the MASCAC quarterfinal round, Yearsley amassed 19 points on 6-11 shooting to lead the Trailblazers to a 63-52 win over Framingham State and a berth in the semifinal round.

The freshman would follow that up with his season best performance against eventual champion Bridgewater State.  He would score a season high 31 points on 11-19 shooting.  The impressive shooting display also carried beyond the arc as he went 8-11 from three point range.  The Trailblazers eventually fell 102-93 to the Bears in a high scoring affair.

Yearsley ended up the season leading MCLA in scoring at 13.5 points per game.  He shot a respectable 46% from the field and canned 40% of his three point attempts.

He helped the Trailblazers turn around a program that won just two games last season but ended 2018 with ten victories.
