Becker adds second MASCAC rookie of the week honors
North Adams, MA- MCLA freshman center has captured the MASCAC rookie of the week honor for the second time in three weeks as the conference announced their weekly awards on Monday. Ryan Carney of Bridgewater State was tabbed as the MASCAC player of the week.
Becker, a 6'7 center from Lake George, NY, has been a centerpiece of the Trailblazer offense. This past week, he averaged 10 points and 4.5 rebounds, but shot a remarkable 90% from the floor. He helped MCLA to a 2-0 week.
In the Trailblazer win Sage this week, he collected four points and two rebounds. He would follow that performance up with a 16 point, 7 rebound performance in a convincing win over Rivier. In that contest, he didn't miss from the floor as he was a perfect 8-8 shooting.
Becker currently leads the conference in FG% converting 63% of his attempts.
The Trailblazers have won two straight and will close out semester play at 7pm tomorrow with a road tilt at Elms.
