MCLA hosts Invitational at Berkshire Hills Country Club
Pittsfield, MA- The Rhode Island College golf team received a pair of 75's from Patrick Ford and Jonathan Cooper en route to posting a solid score of 310 to win the MCLA Invitational held at Berkshire Hills Country Club in Pittsfield. Ford would take home the individual honors by virtue of winning the one hole playoff.
RIC posted three scores in the 70's to breeze to a comfortable victory at Berkshire Hills. Westfield State was second with a total of 324. Rounding out the scores were Cobleskill at 339, Worcester State at 359, and MCLA at 417.
Ford and Cooper posted identical 75's on the long track at Berkshire Hills. Each carded a birdie on the day to lead into the playoff. Ford would par the first playoff hole while Cooper ended with a bogey after a poor tee shot.
Westfield State's Derek Doiron was next with a solid score of 78 to take third place. Peter Camerlengo of RIC was fourth with a 78 and Tyler Beaudry of Westfield shot a 79 for fifth.
MCLA was paced by Nick Young and Mitch Mullett who shot 92 and 94 respectively.
