Golf opens up play at Williams Invitational

Day One Results

Williamstown, MA- The MCLA golf team opened up play in the 36 hole Williams Invitational held at Taconic Golf Club today.  After 18 holes, the Trailblazers are in 18th place.  The tournament will conclude tomorrow with a 9am shotgun start.

First year player Quinn McCormick paced MCLA with an 83 on the difficult Taconic par 71 layout.  Matt Lawrence also posted an 83 as they're both tied for 58th place.  Nick Bator was the next Trailblazer who posted a first round 87 while Josh Fortier (94) and Liam Nolan (97) also competed.

Trinity College is the first round leader with a team total of 301 while host Williams is just one behind at 302.  Amherst College is lurking four behind with a one day total of 305.

Phillippe Morin of Middlebury holds the individual lead after firing an even par round of 71.
