Dwyer leads Golf on opening day of Elms Invitational

Amherst, MA- The MCLA Golf team competed this afternoon in the opening round of the Elms College Invitational held at Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst.  The Trailblazers sit in 14th place after the opening round which was played in dreary conditions at the Par 72 layout.

Reese Dwyer shot a solid round of 79 to lead the Trailblazers.  Matt Lawrence was right behind him with an opening round of 80.  Liam Nolan came in with an 84 while Josh Fortier posted 88.

Babson College leads with a team score of 294, good enough for a five shot lead over Western New England.  MCLA shot a 331 as a team.

The final round will be played tomorrow, weather permitting, at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley.
