Men's Golf opens play with Trailblazer invitational at Berkshire HIlls

Pittsfield, MA- Eastern Nazarene's Michael Dietz fired a one under par 71 to claim the individual title at the Trailblazer invitational hosted by MCLA at Berkshire Hills Country Club. Westfield State University took home team honors with a score of 309.
Dietz had a clean scorecard on the front nine with a birdie on the eighth hole to shoot 34. After a bogey and double bogey on the 12th and 13th holes, he responded with a birdies on 14, 15, and 18 to close out his stellar round.
Westfield's Matteo Godek finished second with a two over par score of 74. Nick Eliopoulos carded a 75 and finished in solo third.
Godek and Eliopoulos gave the Owls a cushion that they wouldn't relinquish over second place Roger Williams. The Hawks shot a solid 314 with all four scores of 80 or better. Three Hawks carded a 78.
Elms College finished in third place with a total of 319. They were led by Bill Marchand's 78.
Castleton's Jacob Erwin rounded out the top five with a 77.
MCLA was paced by Bobby New and Reese Dwyer who each carded 86's. Other Trailblazers in action were Gabe Evans, Hunter Woodbury, and Matthew Hartigan.
