Golf tees it up at the MASCAC Championships

Sutton, MA- The 2018 MASCAC Golf Championships were held this afternoon at Blackstone National Golf Club in Sutton, MA.  Westfield State University claimed the tournament title after winning a tiebreaker with Salem State with a team score of 319.  The Trailblazers finished fifth in the event.

Westfield and Salem were both tied after their top four scores were counted.  By virtue of the tiebreaker, the fifth team score, the Owls claimed the outright tournament title.  

MCLA was paced by Reese Dwyer who carded an 88.  Bobby New carded a 93 for the Trailblazers while Hunter Woodbury and Gabe Evans rounded out the scoring for MCLA.

Eric Powers from Salem State and Matteo Godek of Westfield State earned medalist honors with a score of 77.

The Trailblazers continue their fall campaign this weekend competing in the Elms Invitational.
