Men's Lacrosse adds Reif to coaching staff

North Adams, MA- The MCLA Athletics department and the Men's Lacrosse program has announced the hiring of Paul Reif as assistant coach.  In his latest role, Reif served as the head coach at Green Mountain prior to coming to MCLA.   The Men's Lacrosse program, under the direction of Head Coach Kevin Pezanowski, will kick off in the spring of 2020.

Reif is an alum of MCLA as he received his Masters of Education degree in North Adams.

Reif began his first collegiate varsity head coaching position as the Green Mountain men's lacrosse coach in October of 2017.  He became the ninth head coach in program history. He also served as the department's director of facilities while at Green Mountain.

Prior to arriving at Green Mountain, Reif had been the assistant men's lacrosse coach at the University of Arizona from the fall of 2015 to June 2017, where he was part of a staff that accumulated a record of 11-12.  In 2017, the team narrowly lost in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) national tournament to UC Santa Barbara 11-10.  Over the course of two seasons at Arizona, Reif coached five MCLA Division I All-Americans.

Reif served as the Lacrosse coach at Mount Anthony High School in Bennington, VT.  While there, he amassed a record of 46-25, which included a top mark of 15-3 back in 2013.  Reif was named the US Lacrosse Vermont State Head Coach of the Year the following year in 2014. During his time at MAU, he helped to develop seven US Lacrosse All-Americans.

He will be involved in all aspects of the program, including recruiting while the program builds its foundation.
