Hebert scores five times but Trailblazer men's lacrosse falls to Albertus Magnus

New Haven, CT- The MCLA men's lacrosse game played their first true road game as the Trailblazers headed to New Haven, CT to battle Albertus Magnus.  The Falcons jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and never looked back as they defeated the Trailblazers 22-8.  Albertus picks up their first win of the season as they even their mark at 1-1.  MCLA falls to 0-3 during their inaugural campaign.

Albertus starter the scoring just eight seconds into the contest when Jon Olson converted a Jayme Toro pass for an early 1-0 lead.  Christopher Magnifico increased the lead to 2-0 just three minutes later and when Gideon Cooper and Olson scored, the Falcons led 4-0 after one quarter of play.

In the second quarter, AMC kept on the offensive.  Olson and Magnifico increased the lead to 6-0 and then Toro got into the act to make it 7-0 in favor of Albertus.

MCLA finally got a spark from Johnny Hebert.  He tallied with just over eight minutes to play in the second quarter to break the ice for the Trailblazers.  AMC responded with two more goals to up the lead to 9-1, but Hebert tallied back to back goals to get MCLA within 9-3.   Hebert would score again later in the quarter, but AMC led 10-4 at the break.

The teams traded goals in the third period before Albertus went on a long scoring run to break it open.  They would score six straight goals to increase the lead to 17-5 and never looked back.

The Falcons were paced by Olson's game high 6 goals.  He added 2 assists for AMC.  Cooper and Magnifico added three goals apiece in the win.

Dane Walsh earned the win in net for the Falcons collecting six saves on the night.

Hebert added a fourth quarter tally to finish with a team best 5 goals for the Trailblazers.  Brady Larkin started in goal for MCLA and absorbed the loss.

The Trailblazers are off until next Tuesday when they host Becker College at 4pm at Shewcraft Field.
