Lacrosse taken down at Thomas College, 14-3
WATERVILLE, Maine – The MCLA Lacrosse team headed north this afternoon for a matinee North Atlantic Conference matchup with the Thomas College Terriers at Smith Field. The Terriers scored the first eight goals of the game representing all the scoring in the first half. Thomas' Connor Hamilton picked up a hat trick as the hosts went on to win 14-3.

- Series History: The all-time series between the teams is tied at 2-2, including a 15-4 win by Thomas in their last meeting on April 13, 2024, in North Adams. MCLA won the first-ever meeting of the teams, 15-9 on April 23, 2022, in North Adams.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Terriers took control of the game early and did not relinquish the lead after going up less than five minutes into play. Hunter Simpson (man-up, with 10:31 to play in the quarter, assisted by Jack Morrill) opened the scoring, followed by goals from Dustyn Hinkley (9:51, Tyler Lydon), Timothy Worster (7:41, unassisted), Nicholas Pike (5:51, unassisted), and Kyle Van Doren-Crooker (1:40, Pike).
- Jack Morrill (11:07, unassisted, and 10:57, unassisted) became the first multi-goal scorer for the game when he scored 10 seconds apart for the first goals of the second period. Connor Hamilton (8:02, unassisted) then scored the first of what would be three goals for the day, representing what would be the final tally of the first half, sending Thomas to halftime with an 8-0 lead.
- The Trailblazers broke through for their first goal when sophomore midfielder Ashton Morris (Gansevoort, NY) (11:07, unassisted) netted his first goal of the season.
- Wyatt Lyons (4:23, Van doren-Crooker) added the only other score of the third quarter even though the Terriers enjoyed a 20-4 edge in shots and a 9-2 edge in shots on goal.
- That shooting scenario played out again in the fourth quarter, with Thomas holding an 18-7 advantage in shots, and 14-2 in shots on goal. Thomas grew their lead to as much as 14-1 behind goals by Hamilton (14:19, Morrill & 11:31, Tyler Gay), Owen Lyons (13:55, unassisted & 8:49, Worster), and Worster (7:48, unassisted).
- MCLA added a pair of late goals to when freshman Cameron LaFerriere (Pittsfield, MA) (man-up, 5:05, unassisted) and junior attacker Anthony Andolina (3:07, unassisted).
- Goalie Daniel Guarino needed only three saves for the Terriers to improve his record to 3-6.
