Boateng named first team All MASCAC

2016 All MASCAC Men's Soccer Team

North Adams, MA- MCLA senior midfielder Edward Boateng has been named to the All MASCAC first team as announced by the league offices this afternoon.  Boateng joins teammate Anthony Basile, the MASCAC player of the year, on the first team.  

The honor marks the fourth straight year that Boateng received all conference honors.  The midfielder has made plays throughout his career, but saved his best season for last.  He tallied 7 goals, good for fifth in the MASCAC, and an assist for 15 points on the season.

Boateng, from Worcester, MA, collected a hat trick in a road win over Cobleskill and added three game winning goals on the season.

Joining Boateng on the 2016 MASCAC First Team is Bridgewater State's Filipe Gomes, Fitchburg State's Steven Martinez, Framingham State's Simon Appiah, MCLA's Anthony Basile, Massachusetts Maritime's Scott Matoian, Matthew McDonough and Mick Rouette and Worcester State's Jason Barrett and Matthew Dent.

Landing on the 2016 MASCAC Second Team is Bridgewater State's Sawyer Fleck, Kane Moran and Jonathan Pires, Fitchburg State's Nick Masley, Framingham State's Johance Liverpool and Ken Stahovish, Massachusetts Maritime's Adam Crawford. Brendan Gawron and Mike Pruchnik, Westfield State's Kory McGilvray and Worcester State's George Siotis.
