Men's Soccer trumped at Western New England 5-1

Springfield, MA- The Western New England Men's Soccer team controlled the action from start to finish as the Golden Bears easily disposed of the MCLA Trailblazers 5-1 this afternoon in non conference action.  WNE improves to 2-0 on the season while MCLA evens their mark at 1-1.

WNE's Troy Remillard and Matt Remillard each potted a pair of goals to lead the offense.  Kory Caster notched the other marker for the Golden Bears.

MCLA's Romeo Grey scored the lone goal for the Trailblazers off a feed from Garrett Derosia, but that's all MCLA could muster.

WNE took control early on as Troy Remillard ripped a shot to the top left corner just four minutes into play to make it 1-0 WNE.  Caster would convert his goal in the 20th minute scoring off a rebound of a Corey Brown shot for a 2-0 advantage.

The Golden Bears put the game away in the 26th minute when Troy Remillard tallied again, this time on a penalty kick making it 3-0.  Matt Remillard notched his first of the day when he beat the MCLA defense on a through ball in the 38th minute for a 4-0 halftime edge.

WNE's Matt Remillard would convert a cross from Josh Labonte in the 56th minute to round out the home team scoring.  MCLA would finally get on the board just two minutes later when Romeo Grey headed home a pass from Derosia making it 5-1.  The score would remain that way under challenging conditions on the WNE campus.

WNE's Tyler Lavigne was credited with the win after playing the entire first half.  The Golden Bears used three keepers in all.

MCLA's Kamron Anderson absorbed the loss making 5 saves in defeat.

The Trailblazers will host the CIAO classic next Friday and Saturday at Shewcraft Field.
