Worcester, MA- Worcester State's Mitch Myrthil tallied in the fourth minute and Lancer keeper Jason Barrett posted a shutout in leading the Lancers to a 2-0 victory over MCLA in the MASCAC opener for both teams.  The Lancers improve to 3-1 overall and are now 1-0 in the conference.

MCLA falls to 2-4 on the season and are 0-1 in the league.

Myrthil knocked home a pass from Justin Echeverry just four minutes into the game to make it 1-0 WSU in the early stages.  While WSU held a slim shot advantage, Myrthil's goal held up at halftime for the Lancer lead.

In the 50th minute, leading scorer Bryan Brasil would connect off a feed from Andre Ipojuca to increase the lead to 2-0.  The goal was Brasil's fourth of the week after a hat trick earlier this week.  From there, Barrett took over.
