Three different Trailblazers score in men's soccer 3-2 win over Green Mountain

Poultney, VT- Three different Trailblazers recorded goals as the MCLA Men's Soccer team held off a late rally from host Green Mountain defeating the Eagles 3-2 this afternoon in non conference action.  With the win, MCLA improves to 5-9 while GMC drops to 1-11.

Romeo Grey got things started for MCLA in the 18th minute connecting for his fourth goal of the season.  He put home a pass from Andrew Nygard making it 1-0.  Just 1:22 later, senior Oscar Castro converted an unassisted goal to increase the margin to 2-0 and MCLA appeared on their way to a rout.

When Nygard tallied in the 25th minute, it was 3-0 Trailblazers and the match seemed over.  Nygard's goal was assisted by Tyler Callahan.  In the 32nd minute, the Eagles began to claw their way back in it.  

Cameron Book converted to go into halftime down just 3-1.  Neither team would score until late in the second half when Book notched his second goal of the contest in the 88th minute making it 3-2 in favor of MCLA.

With just 1:16 left to play, MCLA was able to run out the clock and preserve the victory.

The Trailblazers held a slim 18-17 shot edge over the Eagles and a 10-5 mark in corners.

Sean Bradshaw started in goal for MCLA and stopped five shots to earn his first win in a Trailblazer uniform.  

Griffin Shelor stopped five shots for the Eagles.

MCLA is back in action on Saturday traveling to Salem State for a 2pm kickoff.
