Men's Soccer drops season finale to Bridgewater State 1-0

North Adams, MA- The visiting Bridgewater State University Men's Soccer team held off the MCLA Trailblazers 1-0 this evening at Shewcraft Field.  The Bears clinched a spot in next week's playoffs as they improve to 6-9-3 overall and end the MASCAC season at 3-3-1.  MCLA ends their season at 5-11 and 2-5 in the conference.

BSU's Ronaldo Powell scored the lone goal in the 40th minute of play.  He would head home a free kick off the foot of Zachary Ells to make it 1-0.  The marker was his second of the season.  

Both teams had numerous chances to score, however neither side could muster up another goal.  Each team posted nine shots in the second half of play.

MCLA's Romeo Grey had a few chances in the closing half as did Issa Jalloh and Oscar Castro, however their shots sailed high or wide and BSU escaped with the win.

The Bears held a 19-13 shot advantage for the night while MCLA earned a 9-4 mark in corner kicks.

BSU keeper Nate Morgado earned the shutout win, his fifth of the season, stopping 5 shots.

Kamron Anderson tallied four saves in a losing effort for MCLA.

Prior to kickoff, MCLA honored seven seniors in Oscar Castro, Tyler Tatro, Tyler Callahan, Augustin Ndayikeza, Kamron Anderson, Romeo Grey, and Joe Tavella.
