Men's Soccer releases 2018 Schedule; opens with six straight at Shewcraft Field
North Adams, MA- The MCLA Men's Soccer season will get underway in just two short months. The program released their 2018 schedule this morning that features six straight home games under the friendly confines of Shewcraft Field to open the season. The Trailblazers open up play on Friday, August 31st when they host St. Joseph (CT) at 6pm.
The home stand continues on September 2nd as MCLA welcomes Western New England to campus for a 1pm matinee. The 2018 CIAO Classic kicks off on Friday and Saturday, September 7th and 8th, as the Trailblazers host Morrisville State on the 7th before challenging the Western Connecticut State Colonials on the 8th. Perennial CIAO participant Union College rounds out the field for the classic.
The Trailblazers will have the week off before opening up MASCAC play on Friday the 14th as they host Worcester State. The homestand concludes on Tuesday the 18th as MCLA battles Skidmore.
MCLA then hits the road for three straight starting with an 11am matchup with Westfield State on the 22nd. The road trip concludes with a pair of 7pm tilts against Sage (9/25) and MASCAC foe Mass. Maritime (9/28).
A non conference matchup with local foe Southern Vermont at Shewcraft field rings in October (10/2) and then MCLA hosts Framingham State on the 5th. The Trailblazers will play three of their final five games on the road as they head to Salve Regina on Columbus Day and are at Fitchburg State on the 13th. Home contests with defending conference champion Salem State (10/19) and Keene State (10/24) are on tap before MCLA closes the regular season with a trip to Bridgewater State on October 27th.
The MASCAC postseason tournament gets underway on Tuesday, October 30th.
MCLA went 5-11 last season and were 2-5 in the MASCAC.
