Men's Soccer ends homestand with 4-0 loss to Skidmore

North Adams, MA- The visiting Skidmore College men's soccer team scored a pair of goals in the opening minutes of play as they cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers 4-0 this evening at Shewcraft field.  The Thoroughbreds improve to 4-1-1 on the season while the Trailblazers drop to 0-5-1.

Skidmore wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as they scored in the third minute of action.  David Braman ripped a shot that MCLA keeper Sean Bradshaw saved, but the loose ball rebound went directly to Kyle Barrett who easily scored making it 1-0.  In the 13th minute, Matt Schwab scored when his shot went right through Bradshaw's hands for a 2-0 advantage.  Ben Caples was credited with the assist.

The score would remain that way into halftime with Skidmore holding a 12-5 shot advantage.

Skidmore would increase the lead to 3-0 early in the second half when Mike Park ripped a shot from 35 yards off a free kick into the upper right corner.  It was his first goal of the season.  The Thoroughbreds would round out the scoring in the 81st minute on Noah Lehrecke's header from Joey Park.

Sebastian Bosch earned the win for Skidmore in goal stopping 1 shot.

Bradshaw took the loss for MCLA collecting 13 saves before being relieved by Holvin Nieves.  Skidmore outshot MCLA 27-7 in the contest.

MCLA is back in action on Saturday when they head to Westfield State for an 11am kickoff.
