North Adams, MA- The visiting Western Connecticut State Men's Soccer team got a pair of goals from Matthew Restrepo and the Colonials held off the MCLA Trailblazers 4-2 this afternoon in the final game of the Kickoff Classic.  The Colonials improve to 3-1 on the season while MCLA is winless at 0-3.

The Colonials didn't waste much time in getting on the scoreboard as Matthew Restrepo converted in the fifth minute of play for an early 1-0 lead.  The visitors would extend the margin in the 12th minute ono Franz Muhaj's marker, his fourth of the season, to increase the lead to 2-0.

WConn would go into halftime with a 3-0 advantage as Joseph Fortuna added another goal for the visitors in the 34th minute.  Western Connecticut held a sizable 11-4 advantage in shots in the opening half of play.

The Trailblazers finally got on the scoreboard on Rafael Castro's first collegiate goal off a free kick in the 71st minute of play.  His marker cut the deficit to 4-1.

MCLA kept the pressure up and tallied again, this time in 73rd minute.  Ryan Wanek headed a ball toward the net that was blocked, but the rebound came directly to Christian Boada and he easily converted to cut the lead to just 4-2, still with 17 minutes remaining to play.  The Trailblazers could not get any closer however.
