Men's Soccer falls 2-0 to Keene State in non conference action

Keene, NH- Keene State's Connor Downey scored a pair of goals to lead the Owls Men's Soccer team past the visiting MCLA Trailblazers 2-0 this evening in non league action.  The Owls improve to 11-5.  MCLA is now 3-11.

Downey scored his first goal in the 21st minute after an MCLA turnover.  He would drill a shot into the lower right corner past MCLA's Sean Bradshaw for an early 1-0 advantage.  The score would remain that way until halftime even though the Owls handily outshot MCLA.

It was more of the same in the second half until the 66th minute.  Downey would convert a cross from Henry Cummings to up the lead to 2-0.  Keene was never really threatened down the stretch to earn the win.

Gavin Fitzpatrick earned the win playing the first half.  He combined with Nate Howard on the shutout.

MCLA's Bradshaw was tabbed with the loss in his first action of the season.

The Trailblazers return home for Senior Night on Friday as they host Mass. Maritime Academy at Shewcraft Field.  Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm.
