Men's Soccer falls to MMA on Senior Night 2-0

North Adams, MA- The visiting Massachusetts Maritime Academy men's soccer team scored their first MASCAC victory of the season as they defeated the MCLA Trailblazers 2-0 this evening at Shewcraft Field.  The Buccaneers improve to 3-11-3 overall and are now 1-4-1 in the conference.

MCLA dips to 3-12 and is 1-5 in the conference.

Neither team could muster up much offense in the opening half of play.  The visitors finally found paydirt with just 50 seconds left in the half.  Logan Pimentel would rip a cross that deflected off a Trailblazer defender and went right to teammate Jacob Crawford.  Crawford easily beat MCLA's Sam Edge for his third goal of the season to put the Bucs in front.

In the second half, MMA would increase the lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute of action.  Justin Burns would send a cross into the box and Quin Lutz was the benefactor as he headed it home for his first goal of the season.

MCLA had a few chances to climb back into the contest as two second half shots hit the post and crossbar respectively.  The Trailblazers couldn't get one past MMA keeper John Murphy however as he preserved the shutout victory.

Murphy recorded three saves in the win.

MCLA's Edge stopped six saves in defeat.

MCLA held a slim 14-13 advantage in shots.  The Bucs did own a 7-2 edge in corners.

The Trailblazers will be back in action on Tuesday night as they host Pine Manor at 6pm.
