Men's Tennis beaten by Western New England 9-0 in lone fall match
North Adams, MA- The visiting Western New England Golden Bears Men's tennis team traveled to MCLA this afternoon and walked away with a 9-0 victory over the Trailblazers in the season opener for both squads. The match is the only one this semester for MCLA as they will be 0-1 heading in to the spring.
Western New England wasted little time in jumping out to a commanding lead by sweeping all three doubles points. The top duo of Andres Otero and Alex Sause combined for a hard fought 8-5 set win over Rob Wabshinak and Aaron Goldsmith. WNE's Chris Spear teamed with Pete LaFrancois to easily dispose of Taylor Krowitz and Richard LaRocque 8-0. The Golden Bears earned the third point by default.
The Golden Bears swept all the singles points in straight sets. Otero, Sause, Spear, and LaFrancois all won a pair of points on the afternoon.
The Trailblazers will be off until March when they will resume their season.
