Men's Tennis drops opening NAC tilt at Castleton 6-3
Castleton, VT- The MCLA Men's Tennis team resumed their 2014-15 season this afternoon and opened conference play with a 6-3 defeat at the hands of NAC foe Castleton. The Spartans are now 3-3 and 1-0 in the league while MCLA is 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the conference.
MCLA freshman Aaron Goldsmith earned a hard fought singles point in the top spot for the Trailblazers. Castleton would claim the points in #2-5 singles before Tyler Russell earned a Trailblazer point in the sixth slot.
Castleton took the top two doubles matches to seize control winning 8-4 and 8-3. Russell earned another point when he teamed with Michael Rooney in the third doubles slot and won 8-3.
MCLA will take on Green Mountain on Friday as they resume conference play at the Bennington Tennis Center.
