Tennis falls to Green Mountain 7-2 in NAC Tennis

Bennington, VT- The visiting Green Mountain Men's Tennis team swept through doubles and then cruised past MCLA 7-2 this afternoon in a NAC match held at the Bennington Tennis Center. With the win, the Eagles improve to 3-0 on the season while the Trailblazers are still in search of their first win at 0-3.

Connor Braden rolled to a pair of points for GMC pairing with Nate Berner-Tobin to win at the top doubles slot over MCLA's Aaron Goldsmith and Rob Wabshinak 8-5.  Braden would take care of Goldsmith in straight sets in number one singles.

The GMC duo's of Grey McCampbell and Jack Hepburn, along with Jack Tiernan and Adrian Torres snagged points in doubles competition to extend the GMC lead to 3-0 heading into singles play.

After Braden's victory, Wabshinak earned a point in the second singles slot by defeating Berner-Tobin 6-4, 6-2.  Hepburn cruised in the third spot for the Eagles and Truman Cressey handled Michael Rooney without dropping a game.

Another bright spot for MCLA was the play of Tyler Russell, who defeated Tiernan 7-5, 6-1 in the sixth slot.

The Trailblazers are back in action tomorrow at Bennington when they host Colby Sawyer.
