Men's Tennis falls 9-0 to Norwich in season opener
Norwich, VT- The MCLA men's tennis program opened their 2018 season this afternoon by visiting Norwich University. The Trailblazers fell 9-0 to the Cadets. MCLA drops to 0-1 on the season while Norwich is now 2-1 overall.
The Trailblazers dropped all three doubles matches to dig a hole. Aaron Goldsmith and Jared Freeman fell 8-2 in the top doubles slot, while Norwich earned 8-0 wins in the other two matches heading into singles play.
MCLA fell in straight sets in all the singles matches as well. Goldsmith put up a good fight but ultimately fell 6-4, 7-6 in the number one singles match. Freeman fell in the second singles slot 6-1, 6-0 while Charles Najimy lost in the third singles slot 6-1, 6-1. Mohamed Mahrous, Reydel Santana, and Nick Castle also competed for MCLA in singles.
The Trailblazers are back in action on Friday when they host Western New England for a non league tilt at 4pm.
