Mixed Tennis blanked at RIC 9-0

Providence, RI- The MCLA Mixed Tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision this afternoon to Rhode Island College in Providence, RI.  The Anchormen improve to 4-1 on the season while MCLA falls to 2-4.

RIC stormed past all three doubles matchups as they dropped just three points combined.  All matches ended with 8-1 finals.  Alex Bourque and Alan Esposito handled Charles Najimy and Matt Bluteau in the top slot.  RIC's second pairing of Chandler Scott and Michael Shea breezed past Sam Gawron and Nick Castle.  Rounding out the doubles matches was Matthew Gambardella and Ethan Hoy defeating Briana Higgins and Mackenna Jordan for the 3-0 advantage.

The Anchormen would continue their strong play in singles.  Bourque handled Mohamed Mahrous in the top singles slot while Scott earned his second point with a win over Castle.  Gambardella, Shea, Joshua Litmanovich, and Esposito all won in straight sets to round out the scoring.

MCLA is back in action on Saturday when they host Lyndon State in NAC action.
