Softball falls to Plymouth State 6-1

Leesburg, FL- The MCLA softball team dropped their fifth straight game tonight as they fell to the Plymouth State Panthers 6-1 in the opening game of a twinbill.  The Trailblazers will battle Lasell College in the 8:30pm nightcap.  MCLA is 0-5 on the season while PSU improves to 2-0.

The Panthers didn't waste a lot of time in getting to Trailblazer starter Morgan Watson.  They tallied three times in the first inning using a walk and an error to put the first two runners on base.  A passed ball scored one run while a two run single accounted for the rest of the scoring making it 3-0 PSU early.

They would add two more runs in the second frame, again using a walk to spark the offense.  A two run double was the key blow that made it 5-0 in favor of Plymouth.  MCLA would get a run back in the second as Alex Romano would double and then come around on Chelsea Coleman's RBI single cutting it to 5-1.

The Trailblazers however, couldn't muster up any more offense off Plymouth starting pitcher Allison Moylan.  She went the distance allowing six hits and striking out three Trailblazers.

For MCLA, they had six hits in the game while Watson went the distance on the mound strking out six, but also surrendering six walks.
