Women's Basketball beaten on road at Bridgewater
Bridgewater, MA- The Bridgewater State University women's basketball team placed three players in double figures led by Jennie Lindland's game best 17 points as they cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers 74-37 tonight in the Tinsley Center. With the win the Bears improve to 8-9 overall and lead the MASCAC at 5-1. The Trailblazers drop to 10-8 overall and stand at 2-4 in league play.
Lindland was 8-12 from the floor to lead the Bears and pulled down 5 rebounds. Chanelle Melton added 15 points and 4 boards, while Vanesa Conceicao ended with 12 points and 3 assists in the win.
The Bears led 19-13 after one quarter of play and 40-24 at halftime when Conceicao drilled a triple at the buzzer. BSU came out of the locker room and Lindland scored four straight points to push the lead to 44-24 and the Bears never looked back.
The Trailblazers were paced by Emily Moulton's 9 points and Courtney Durivage added 7 points and 8 rebounds.
The Bears held the Trailblazers to just 23% shooting from the floor and forced 22 turnovers. MCLA was off from deep shooting just 1-17 from beyond the arc.
The Bridgewater offense was efficient shooting 30-60 (50%) in the win.
MCLA is back at home on Saturday when they host Worcester State at 1pm.
