Hotaling earns MASCAC player of the week honors for first time this season

MASCAC Weekly Release

North Adams, MA- MCLA senior forward Kayla Hotaling was tabbed as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletics Conference player of the week announced today by the league offices.  The honor is the first of the season for Hotaling.

Kyra Rose of Fitchburg State was named the conference's rookie of the week.

Hotaling did her damage prior to Christmas when the Trailblazers traveled to the sunshine state and played a pair of games in Daytona Beach.  Hotaling collected 13 points and 8 boards in a win over Wheaton (MA) 56-53.  She would follow that effort up with a 12 point- 9 rebound performance in a loss to Emory and Henry.  Hotaling also averaged a pair of steals and added four blocks in the game with Emory and Henry.

Hotaling and the Trailblazers are back in action on Wednesday night when they open conference play hosting Worcester State.
