Hotaling named to first team All MASCAC after solid senior season

North Adams, MA- MCLA senior forward Kayla Hotaling has been named to the All MASCAC first team following a vote of the league's coaching staff last week. Hotaling was a second team selection a year ago.
Westfield State's Jill Valley was selected as the league's player of the year for the second straight season, while Worcester State head coach Karen Tessmer is the coach of the year.
Hotaling 13.5 points and 9.8 rebounds in leading the Trailblazers in both categories. Behind her, the Trailblazers made a solid run in the MASCAC postseason before falling to Framingham State in the semifinals.
Hotaling was in double figures in 20 of the 26 games this season. Back on February 15th, she became just the seventh member of the 1,000 point when she drove to the hoop for a bucket at Southern Vermont. Hotaling ends her career with 1,060 points, good enough for fifth all time at MCLA. She ended her career with 848 rebounds as well.
Hotaling is joined on the first team by Valley, Framingham State's Alycia Rackliffe and Raegan Mulherin, and Britt Herring of Worcester State. Rounding out the second team are Bridgewater State's Jennie Lindland and Rhiana Page, Salem State's Norma Waggett, Worcester State's Kaitlyn Berkel, and Fitchburg State's Kyra Rose.
