Women's Basketball sees win streak come to halt with loss to Middlebury at home

North Adams, MA- The visiting Middlebury women's basketball team placed three players in double figures led by Maya Davis' game high 19 point night as they blew past MCLA 92-33 this evening in non conference action.  The Panthers stay perfect on the season as they are now 4-0.  The Trailblazers had their three game win streak snapped and are now 3-2.

Middlebury only trailed once, after Mckenzie Robinson buried a three pointer on MCLA's first possession.  From there, the visitors took over.  Middlebury went on a 10-0 spurt to jump in front at 12-3.  They would eventually lead 22-7 at the end of the first quarter of play.

The lead would grow 26 points (35-9) late in the second quarter before MCLA finally got some offense going.  The Panthers, however, were still in command as they led 40-17 at the break.  Maya Davis led the Panther offense with 11 first half points.  Emily Wander came off the bench to score 9 points, all from beyond the arc.

Middlebury took control by shooting a solid 52% over the opening half while holding MCLA to just 17%.  They also held a sizable rebounding edge 26-11 over the smaller Trailblazers.

Middlebury blew the game wide open by starting the second half on an 11-0 run and then led 76-21 after three quarters of play.

Davis was 7-9 from the floor to lead all scorers with 19 points.  Wander ended with 14 points, including four triples for the Panthers.  Kira Waldman chipped in with 12 points.  The Panthers held a decisive 53-23 edge off the glass and shot 58% on the night.

MCLA was paced by Mckenzie Robinson's 7 points.

MCLA is back in action on Thursday night when they head to Utica College.
