Women's Basketball tripped up on road at Utica 73-67

Utica, NY- The Utica women's basketball team placed three players in double figures as they wire to wire in a 73-57 win over the visiting MCLA Trailblazers this evening.  The Pioneers improve to 3-2 on the season.  MCLA drops their second straight as they are now 3-3 overall.

Utica led early and took command on the heels of a 27-15 first quarter.  They would increase the margin to 46-29 at halftime and never looked back.  MCLA never got close in the second half as the Pioneers held the Trailblazers at bay.

Petrina DeMarco ended with a game high 15 point night for the hosts.  Nicolette Conkin added 14 points and 9 rebounds while Brigid Johndrow filled the stat sheet.  She ended with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, and 3 steals.  

Utica shot 45% in the win and canned nine three pointers on the night.

MCLA was paced by Samantha Gawron's 13 point night.  She added 3 rebounds and 3 steals.  L'Rae Brundige added 12 points.

The Trailblazers were hurt by the Pioneers off the glass as they were outrebounded 43-30.  Utica also held MCLA to just 36% shooting from the floor.

MCLA is back in action Tuesday night at home when they host Williams.
