Langston nets career high in loss to Bears 86-57

North Adams, MA- Bridgewater State's Nicole Bostick netted 32 points with nine three pointers to lead the visiting Bears to a convincing 86-57 win over MCLA in MASCAC women's basketball action this afternoon from the Amsler Campus Center Gym.  The Bears improve to 8-12 overall but get over .500 in the league at 4-3.  MCLA falls to 2-16 overall and is 0-7 in the conference.

The Bears led just 16-11 after one quarter of play but extended in the second quarter.  Bostick led the charge as she got hot from beyond the arc.  Her offense propelled BSU to open up a 41-27 lead at halftime.  MCLA shot just 29% in the opening half of play.

Both teams got up and down the court in the third quarter, but the Bears maintained a 61-45 lead heading to the fourth.  They were never threatened as they outscored MCLA 25-12 over the final ten minutes to ice the game.

Bostick was outstanding as she connected on 11-21 field goals for her game high of 32 points.  She was 9-17 from beyond the arc.  She added 5 boards to her stat line.  Destiny Fitzgerald also had a productive day for the Bears with 13 points and 10 rebounds.  Kylee Piche' ended with 12 points and 7 rebounds.  BSU shot 46% from the floor and made 14-33 three point attempts fueled by Bostick's big day.

MCLA was paced by Kylah Langston's career high 20 point effort.  She was 6-13 from the floor, but a perfect 8-8 from the charity stripe.  Hannah Mazzeo ended with 10 points and 7 rebounds.

The Trailblazers shot just 31% in the loss.

MCLA is back in action on Wednesday when they travel to Fitchburg State.
