Lechler, Granito power women's lacrosse to first victory 13-5 over College of Mount Saint Vincent

North Adams, MA- Beatrice Lechler and Kim Granito each tallied four goals in leading the MCLA women's lacrosse program to a 13-5 win over Mount Saint Vincent this afternoon at chilly Shewcraft field.  With the win, the Trailblazers even their early season record at 1-1 while the Dolphins drop to 0-2.

Lechler and Granito got MCLA off to a great start as each player tallied twice in the opening seven minutes to put the Trailblazers on top 4-0.  The Trailblazer run continued as Mckenzie Cutler added a pair of goals, while Granito, Lechler, and Courtney Gabrus extended the lead to 9-0 before the Dolphins could get on the board.

CMSV would finally tally with 4:26 left in the first half when Paulina Mandujano converted and just seconds later, Alicia Forgione scored making it 9-2.  Lechler would then net her fourth goal of the half to make it 10-2 in favor of MCLA at halftime.

The Trailblazers extended the lead to 13-2 following goals from Granito, Natalie Caney, and Cutler in the second half to salt the game away.  The Dolphins would score the last three markers, including a pair from Forgione to provide the final score.

Caney added 7 groundballs to her stat line while Granito earned 6 draw controls in the win.  MCLA's Zoe Elwell earned the win by playing the first half between the pipes notching 4 saves.  Julia Coughlin played the second half stopping four shots as well.

Forgione ended with 3 goals to lead the Dolphins.  Gabriella Marinese absorbed the loss stopping 12 shots in defeat.

MCLA is scheduled to travel to Wentworth on Tuesday for a non league matchup.
