Lacrosse drops road tilt to Sage 17-8

Albany, NY- Host Sage College received seven goals from Monica Koralus as they cruised past the MCLA Trailblazers women's lacrosse team 17-8 in a match played on the campus of Albany College of Pharmacy this afternoon.  With the win, Sage collects their first win of the season and is 1-3.  

MCLA drops to 2-3 with the loss.

Sage got off to a strong start scoring the game's first six goals.  Torri Sperl scored the first three goals in the opening 3:12 for an early 3-0 advantage.  Koralus would then rattle off two goals sandwiched around an Ellen Abbott marker and it was 6-0 just 8:29 into the game.

Kim Granito got MCLA on the board at the 18:39 mark, but Koralus would score the next four goals to push Sage out to a 10-1 lead.  The Gators would go on to lead 12-2 at halftime.

Sage put the game out of reach early in the second half by scoring the opening three goals to make it 15-2 and MCLA could get no closer than nine the rest of the way.

Granito and Natalie Caney each ended with three goals to lead the Trailblazer offense.  Zoe Elwell played the entire match and collected two saves.

Koralus scored her seven goals on just nine shots.  Sperl ended with four goals for Sage.  Jackie St. Pierre earned the win playing the first half for the Gators.

MCLA is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Dean College.
