Trailblazers silenced by Lancers in women's lax 15-6

North Adams, MA- The visiting Worcester State women's lacrosse program had a balanced scoring attack as they defeated MCLA 15-6 this evening at Shewcraft field in MASCAC action.  With the win, the Lancers improve to 4-8 overall and sit at 2-2 in conference play.  MCLA drops to 3-8 and is 0-4 in league play.

The Lancers were paced by Mackenzie Little's four goals.  She added an assist and five draw controls for WSU.  Angelina Sutherland and Alexis Vecchiarelli added three goals apiece.  Vecciarelli added a pair of assists as did Sutherland.

The Lancers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead behind goals from Isabel Baldrate and Vecciarelli.  MCLA would eventually tie the game at 3-3 later on as Mackenzie Cutler and Kim Granito scored for the Trailblazers with 16:17 left in the half.  The Lancers would outscore MCLA 5-1 to close the half though as Little scored three of her goals in helping WSU to an 8-4 halftime lead.

The Lancers put the game out of reach in the second half by scoring the first six goals.  Sutherland scored three straight to begin the barrage and when Vecciarelli tallied her final goal, the Lancers led 14-4.

Granito would score two straight to give MCLA life, but WSU held MCLA off the scoreboard over the final 12:51 to close out the game.  Little's final marker with just over a minute left accounted for the final tally.
