Women's Lacrosse beaten on road by Salem State 15-7

Salem, MA- Salem State's Kirsten Bradley collected five goals while Tara McLaughlin added three goals and two assists to lead the Vikings to a 15-7 win over MCLA this evening in women's lacrosse.  The Vikings are now 2-9 overall and earned their first MASCAC win as they improved to 1-2.

MCLA falls to 1-7 overall and is 0-3 in the conference.

The teams traded goals to start things off and Bradley and MCLA's Kim Granito each tallied in the opening four minutes.  Salem State would then clamp down on the Trailblazers as they would hold them scoreless the remainder of the half.

Salem would add four goals before halftime as Shayla Inglis collected two of them as the Vikings built a 5-1 halftime lead.

Starting the second half, the teams traded goals for the first 12 minutes as the Trailblazers couldn't get any closer than 8-4 after Granito tallied again.  From there, Salem took control.  They went on a 6-0 spurt fueled by Bradley to take control at 14-4.

The Vikings weren't threatened the rest of the way.

Granito ended with five goals to lead the Trailblazers.  Zoe Elwell stopped 9 shots in net, but absorbed the loss.

Gianna DeNisco earned the win for Salem collecting five saves.

MCLA is back in action on Tuesday night when they host Worcester State at 6pm.
