Women's Soccer snags a 1-0 road win at Rivier

Nashua, NH- The MCLA Women's Soccer team earned a much needed win with a 1-0 victory at Rivier on Wednesday night.  With the win, the Trailblazers improve to 4-11-1 while Rivier falls to 6-12.

Jackie Dwyer tallied the lone goal in the 40th minute knocking home a Britney Whitford pass for her team leading fourth goal of the season.  MCLA pressured Rivier keeper Lauren Goodspeed in the opening half knocking 12 shots in her direction compared to just 4 for the hosts.

In the second half, MCLA still held an 8-4 shot advantage, however couldn't extend the lead.  First year keeper Alison Davey made the lead stand however giving MCLA the victory.

Davey made three stops for her first career shutout.  Goodspeed notched 11 saves between the pipes for Rivier.

The Trailblazers will be looking to earn a playoff berth in the upcoming MASCAC championships this weekend when they host Mass. Maritime Academy at Shewcraft Field.  The match will also be senior day for the Trailblazers.   Kick off is slated for 1pm.
